    The International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC/REV) is an annual conference series, co-organized by the Radio Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV) and the IEEE Communications Society (IEEE ComSoc). The goal of the series is twofold: to foster an international forum for scientific and technological exchange among Vietnamese and worldwide scientists and engineers in the fields of electronics, communications and related areas, and to gather their high-quality research contributions.Started in 2008 in Hanoi, the conference has made a great tour across Vietnam, for better promoting its scientific development (2009 - Haiphong, 2010 - Hochiminh city, 2011 - Danang, 2012 - Hanoi). We now invite you to return to Hochiminh city for the 6th meeting – the ATC/REV 2013 – to be held during October 16–18, 2013, and hosted by International University, Vietnam National University - Hochiminh city.

    ***Important Dates***
    - Manuscript submission: June 30, 2013 (extended)
    - Notification of acceptance: Jul. 15, 2013
    - Camera-ready submission: Aug.15, 2013

    The conference program includes the regular tracks and special sessions spread over three days. In addition, a number of tutorial sessions will be scheduled on the day before the conference starts. Authors are invited to submit original unpublished papers.     ***Submission Guidelines***
    All papers must be submitted electronically, in PDF format, and uploaded on EDAS. The direct link for paper submission is http://edas.info/N14601. The submissions should be formatted with single-spaced, double-column pages using at least 10 pt (or higher) size fonts on A4 or letter pages in IEEE style format. Detailed formatting and submission instructions will be available on the conference web site (http://www.rev-conf.org/submission.html).
    Submitted papers (for both regular and special sessions) are subject to a blind review process handled by an international technical program committee. An author of an accepted paper must be registered at full rate (member or non-member of the IEEE or REV) prior to uploading the camera-ready version. The maximum length of the camera-ready version is 6 pages. Accepted and presented papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

    Tutorial 1: Mobile Radio Channel Modelling: Modelling, Analysis, and Simulation
    Speaker: Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. M. Pätzol

    Summary: This tutorial provides a comprehensive overview of the modelling, analysis, and simulation of mobile radio channels. It offers a detailed understanding of fundamental issues and examines state-of-the-art techniques in mobile radio channel modelling. Important classes of mobile fading channels will be presented, including terrestrial and satellite channels, various types of wideband channels, advanced multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels, mobile-to-mobile channels, vehicle-to-vehicle channels, and channel models for cooperative communication systems. Among them are the following:

    - Introduction and basic principles of mobile radio channel modelling
    - Explanation of different methodologies for the modelling of mobile radio channels
    - Examination of general channel modelling concepts starting from geometrical models over reference models up to simulation models
    - Design of reference and simulation models for mobile radio channels using the sum-of-sinusoids (SOS) and the sum-of-cisoids (SOC) principle
    - Discussion of various methods for the modelling of given Doppler, delay, and angular profiles
    - Presentation of various classes of narrowband and wideband mobile radio channels
    - Elaboration on the modelling and simulation of space-time-frequency MIMO channels
    - Description of mobile-to-mobile and vehicle-to-vehicle MIMO channels
    - Exploration of mobile radio channels for cooperative networks, including double Rayleigh and double Rice channels
    - Outlining methods for the design of measurement-based channel models
    - Providing an overview of standardized channel models.

    Duration of the tutorial: The tutorial will last one half-day.



    Tutorial 2: Cognitive Cooperative Communications: System Design and Performance Analysis
    Speakers: Maged Elkashlan, Trung Q. Duong, Vo Nguyen Quoc Bao, and Arumugam Nallanathan


    Summary: More and more of popularity of customers have posed a demanding challenge for current cellular networks. The most critical issue of wireless systems is to satisfy the ever increasing demand of multimedia services, which imposed a huge increase in bandwidth. One of prominent solution is to use the cognitive radio concept, where secondary users (SUs) are allowed to concurrently occupy the same spectrum band which is assigned to primary users (PUs) as long as SUs’ transmission do not cause any harmful interference on the PUs. The fundamental deadlock of cognitive radio systems is, however, the interference management problem between PUs and SUs, which leads to the fact that the secondary reliability is severely degraded. One important direction of research is to use the concept of cooperative communications, where relays have demonstrated a vital role in terms of enhancing secondary communications reliability. As a result, cognitive cooperative communications have appealed the mobile operators as an efficient approach to enhance coverage and capacity for future wireless communications. The following topics will be included:

    - Cooperative spectrum sharing
    - Security issues in cooperative cognitive networks
    - Novel multiple access techniques in cooperative cognitive networks
    - Relay selection techniques in cooperative cognitive networks
    - Multi-hop and multiway techniques cooperative cognitive networks
    - MIMO techniques in cooperative cognitive networks
    - Hardware impairment issue in cooperative cognitive networks

    Intended length of the tutorial: Half-day (3 hours)

    Đây là 2 chủ đề rất thú vị cho các bạn (cả sinh viên, sinh viên Tiến sĩ và cả tiến sĩ) đã và đang muốn làm research trong lĩnh vực Wireless Communications. Hơn nữa chủ đề được trình bày bởi 2 nhóm giáo sư nổi tiếng trong lĩnh vực (có nhiều công bố khoa học, chủ trì các chương trình trong các hội thảo lớn của IEEE và có hệ số trích dẫn khoa học cao). Mình cũng sẽ tham dự 2 tutorials này

    Tutorial mà có 4 diễn giả thì ác quá, chuyện này chắc xưa nay hiếm

    Thông thường 1 tutorial trong hội thảo IEEE là 1 session 1.5h, còn 1 tutorial của ATC năm nay sẽ diễn ra trong 2 sesion do vậy công việc cũng nhiều hơn. 4 diễn giả thì sẽ tốt cho ai muốn hỏi nhiều

    Ngoài ra, BQT của vntelecom cũng đang tính tổ chức 1 session của vntelecom song song cùng 2 buổi tutorial này. Sẽ cập nhật tình hình cho các bạn sau.
